Hey Everyone!!

Today is my country’s 142nd birthday!! There is something so awesome about having a holiday mid-week in the summer, I just love it!! To celebrate Canada Day, I made a super festive card that just screams Canada…
This is such a fun, festive card! I love it and I think I’ll use this in some sort of way in a scrapbook page about todays’ activities..
You gotta love a glittery maple leaf 😉
This sentiment is beyond true for me, I really am proud to be Canadian!! Its one of the most beautiful countries on Earth and I hope to one day travel it from coast to coast and take it just exactly what all this beautiful place has to offer!
Our day included a trip with Jake out to the Lake (Elkwater is just 45 minutes from home and it feels like a completely different province!) We went to the Beach, had some lunch, drove around the campgrounds and checked on my family’s old cabin that was built by my great grandparents many years ago. The lake was where I spent my childhood summers and it holds a very special place in my heart!
Here is Jake at the beach..showing his Canadian pride:
And here is a special friend we came upon..

Now we’re off to our friends for a BBQ and then its time for fireworks!! I’ll post pictures tomorrow of tonight’s events..have a great night everyone!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!

I had a great start to my week today and something tells me it has a lot to do with it being a short week 😉 Wednesday is Canada Day for us and we’re hoping to celebrate in a nice relaxing way!! Of course, having the holiday mid-week to break up the work week always helps too:)
My card today is a masculine birthday card which is something I always struggle with when asked to make them. Everything always seems so feminine when put together and I love bright/fun colours and ribbons which rarely ever translates into “man”. But with Taylored Expressions’ Boys will be Boys stamp set, I never have to fret again!!
How awesome is this? This is totally a card for my dad..a workbelt for all his tools and of course the remote control for his tv..we all know how much a man loved his tv!!
The images in these sets are impeccable! So clear and defined and super easy to stamp and colour in with my Prismas/Copics!!
I’m going to make a few of these to keep on hand..something tells me they’ll come in handy!! Have a great night everyone!!

Happy Sunday everyone!!

It’s been a very long week without internet, but we’re finally up and running again!! The new modem was dropped off about an hour ago and it felt like Christmas around here:)I know, its pathetic how reliant we’ve become on technology!!
I hope I haven’t missed too much in blogland but I thought I would sneak in a quick Get Well card I made recently..

This card is so bright and cheery and I know it will make any recipient feel better! I used PTI’s Tea for Two stamp set for the teapot as well as the sentiment and used PTI’s Tea Leaves PP for the background, along with Pure Poppy and Ripe Avocado cardstocks..
And of course, I couldn’t resist a few buttons..

I’m off to enjoy the sunshine, and then tonight its off to my grandma’s to celebrate her 76th birthday with a BBQ!! Have a great weekend and I will be back tomorrow!!

Hey guys!

Happy Thursday! I hope your week is coming to a close fast and you can enjoy a well deserved weekend!! Today I had to go and grab all the supplies needed from my office’s summer party tomorrow night and now I’m unbelievably excited for it!!

My project today is another card that was made for my Damon Lane’s order, and I am so happy with how it turned out! Nowadays we all know of someone who has been touched by cancer, and when my dad was in radiation, he commented on how many people were affected by Breast Cancer, the number is astounding!! This card here is in tribute to all patients/survivors and friends..

I used My Favorite Things’ Think Pink stamp set for this card (such a great set!)

I then used my heart punch on the Kraft card base and placed a piece of white CS in behind to cover the hole. Then, I stamped a pink ribbon to emphasize the cause. The main image is of two women supporting each other and the sentiment is absolutely perfect for this kind of card!! As a finishing touch, I brought out the sewing machine and stiched the card, the main image as well as around the heart! It was a little time consuming, but definitely worth the effort!

I love the end result!! And the sentiment is so true, no matter who is affected..we are all in this together!

Have a great night everyone!
