I was putzing around my craft studio yesterday when this stamp came to my mind. I’ve been wanting to ink it up for awhile now, but I wasn’t sure just what I wanted to do with it. Then all of a sudden it came to me! I’ve been hoarding my ‘Imagininsce, Fairest of Them All’ paper collection for some scrapbook pages of my niece Makiya, but this card wouldn’t be complete without a little glittery castle now would it?

I stamped my image and sentiment as well as cut my card base out of Vintage Cream cardstock, then I placed the front of my card in my swiss dots folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug. I love swiss dots..its seriously one of the most ingenious inventions ever!

The sentiment and its border were cut out using my sm. circle nestabilities and then I cut out all my pieces of patterned paper. To finish it off I embellished every scallop around the sentiment with silver rhinestones for a very “royal” effect. Cute hey?

I have no definite plans for this card but I do know that it could be good for either a bachelorette party/bridal shower or you could go the other way and give it as a comfort card for someone going through a break up. Whatever its use, I’m sure it will bring a smile to any recipient!

Happy Crafting everyone!

I’m checking in to wish all you mom’s out there an early Happy Mother’s Day! What are your plans? Any special events going on in honor of that special woman in our lives? We’re planning a nice BBQ supper of stuffed hamburgers which is one of my mom’s favorite meals and hopefully we can give her a nice relaxing day to worry about nothing! I searched and searched for a great gift this year and although I didn’t end up with what I originally wanted, I did come up with this beauty for her garden..

What do you think? She LOVED it! She’s always talking about yellow roses and when I saw this plant at the greenhouse, it stopped me in my tracks and I knew that she had to have it!

She also got her card early this year which I was really happy with. I had just gotten this set in from Taylored Expressions and couldn’t wait to ink it up! Isn’t the finished result sweet? To finish it off I used Diamond Stickles around the florals and added some dimension to the top flower for added interest.

However you spend this Sunday, make sure to wish your mom a very Happy Mother’s Day!

Have a great weekend!!

Hey All!

I love, love, LOVED the colours in this weeks Raspberry Suite challenge! It allowed me to play with the new Hibiscus and Smokey Shadow colours and any excuse to play is good enough for me! When I saw these colours, I instantly thought of a funky but sweet baby girl card and knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to break in my Scattered Showers stamp set. This set is so cute and whimsical and I know that I will reach for it time and time again…

I don’t have anyone specific in mind yet for a recipient, but I know that it won’t stay long in my stash of goodies!!

Happy Crafting!

I’m so excited to participate in this weeks KWerner Design challenge as its my first ever card challenge and I loved the colors that were chosen! I was a little nervous about how I was going to tackle the design, but in the end I’m pretty happy with it!

This week, I wanted to pull out my Green Thumb stamp set for the floral image in the background as well as this cute friendship sentiment. I love this set for its versatility and I have to say that the flowers are absolutely beautiful!

Have a great weekend!

I don’t know about you, but last summer was definitely “The Year of the Baby” in my life! Between friends and family, we were expecting 9 new miracles between the months of March-October..it was definitely an exciting time for all of us. In the end, we welcomed 8 girls and 1 boy!

As Spring also means Baby Season, I wanted to make sure that I always keep a steady supply on hand, just in case. I found while browsing through my LSS that although there were so many beautiful options for baby girl patterned papers, boys were few and far in between.. and what I did find, wasn’t all that exciting. So my girlfriend gave me an idea about airplanes and while out shopping, I found this sheet of paper and just went with it. I cut out the large airplane with my Cricut, stamped a sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s “Bitty Baby Blessings” stamp set, tacked on some buttons and before I knew I had this little cutie of a card that is just perfect for a little boy!
So far this year it is just one of my cousins who is expecting their first baby (a daughter!) to appear around the beginning of June and I have to tell you, I am beyond excited for him! And you know what? I think I’ve got just the paper to make a beautiful card for her welcome gift!
