Hey Everyone!

so sorry its been quiet around here..I’m in the midst of house reno’s and planning my new yard that by the time I get some down-time, I am ready for a nap! Although I’ve only had the house for 10.5 days, sooo much has changed already! All walls minus the kitchen have been completely repainted, the kitchen has been completely gutted, crackfilled, sanded and re-crackfilled and hopefully the walls will be scrubbed and painted by the end of the week!! New lighting has been installed (my favorite has been hanging in the bathroom now for all of 12 hours and I’m seriously giddy..I will show you pictures soon!!)

Now, weather permitting, a new front step will be built this coming weekend and the front porch will have new tongue and groove in it for me to paint next week. And then its waiting on the kitchen cabinets so we can build and install and then flooring!! After that will be building a new fence (I have a 50′ x 130′ lot..so its going to be a LOT of work!!) and planting my flower beds!

Last weekend I took the time to rake up 13 bags of leaves and in between piles I would stop and rest with Jakey in our new yard..its so huge I can barely contain my excitement..its what I’ve always wanted and its mine all mine:)

I have been taking photos along the entire process and will share them soon..just wanted to stop in and say ‘hi’ and let you know that things are going great!!!

Take care and Happy Crafting everyone!!

I’ll be busy this afternoon with the walk thru and ordering the new kitchen flooring and cabinetry but will try to post some photos of the work being done throughout the weekend.

Happy April 1st everyone!!

We woke up to another beautiful day here in Southern Alberta! With the warm weather and snow completely melted, I decided to take my boys out for a country walk with my dad..and let me tell you it was the most peaceful Saturday in a very long time:)

We drove out of the City and once we hit prairie, made a few turns down a gravel road and pulled the truck over in a wide open field..there is something about the open land out here that just lets you breathe a little deeper, you know?

We came across this old beauty in the fields..shot up and ripped apart..but something about it was just begging me to photograph it, and I’m glad I did!

After running for about a mile, I finally got Otis to sit still long enough for me to take his picture..isn’t he just a handsome little guy? Don’t let this picture fool you though..he is a VERY active border collie..even at 8 years old!

And we also managed to stumble across this one day old calf..I couldn’t resist taking his picture either 😉

And last but not least..a photo op with me and my boy!!
So whether you are out in the country or surrounded by buildings..get outside and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather! You’ll be happy you did:)

This has been the most extraordinary and exciting day/week/month of my life! I can’t fill you all in just yet about all the latest “happenings” but I will update you on the new house ‘news’..I have spent more money this last week on lawyers fees, down payment, hook up fees and property taxes then I ever have in a 7 day period!! No one said it was easy getting in to your first home but let me tell you that to this day I still believe it will all be worth it! Two weeks today and I get the keys to my house..I can’t wait to show you my new castle 😉

Other than that I have been fighting a cold (seems like everyone is these days) and getting photos printed for my scrapbooks that I plan on working on this upcoming weekend!! Is there really anything better than planning an entire weekend to scrapbook/create?!?!

Speaking of creating, I have yet another vintagey baby card that I’m in love with to show you..

I used more DP from Melissa Frances as well as a sentiment from PTI’s Inside & Out: Baby set. Vintage baby buggy as seen in this post is from Paper Source
I stamped the sentiment onto Vintage Cream CS from PTI with Dark Chocolate ink and then inked the edges up with PTI’s Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo. Then I used my oval and scalloped oval nesties and used a pop dot in behind for a little more “oomph” 😉
To finish off the card I tied PTI’s Vintage Cream silk ribbon around the base then finished it off with PTI Twine, a Vintage Button and a Melissa Frances glittered chipboard heart…ahhh, I can smell that new baby smell already 😉
That’s all for tonight my friends..its been an amazing day for me today and now I’m off to rest this very sleepy head!!
Happy Crafting!

I got to spend some “aunty/niece” time again last night with Makiya and I’m still blown away by how fast she is growing up. My best friend is no longer a “new mom”, she is now the mom to a toddler and its amazing and awe inspiring and a little scary when you think of how fast time flies by us. When Makiya was born, I made an album for Jodie..her ultrasound photos, her belly shots I took, Makiya’s birth and first bath..and then I told Jodie I would scrapbook Makiya’s first year and beyond…and haven’t completed a single layout to date! So now I’m set on completing this album up to her 19th month so far and I have a looong way to go! How did we get from here:

To here: (?)

I’m going to really enjoy the process of scrapbooking her every month and look forward to smiling at all her photos and retelling her story so that when she is my age, she can look back at things she would have otherwise never remembered. It really is one of the best gifts I think I could ever give her or her mom!!

Last night she said my name for the first time ever and it made my heart well up more than she’ll ever know! But I have to keep asking myself… how did we get to 19 months already?!?!
