Now that all the major winter holidays have come and gone.. I am anxiously awaiting Spring. I’m getting cabin fever and am so sick of these cold Northern wind gusts that chill you right to the bone. The sun is shining, but there is still snow on the ground and all I want is to look out and see green! I am slowly gathering up some of my cheerful Spring-themed scrapbooking supplies and will be showcasing a few goodies for you later this week.

Over the weekend I started a few Easter themed cards and it felt weird to stamp bunnies but the truth of the matter is, Easter is only 41 days away!! Can you believe it? Every year my aunt hosts our Petrick Family Easter Egg Hunt and I’m excited already. All my aunts, uncles, cousins and cousins’ kids gather on the morning of Easter Sunday and search for eggs with out names on them, hidden throughout her massive yard. Its soo much fun and truly?! I’ll never be too old for it!

I also scrapbooked this weekend! GASP!! I know, shocking isn’t it? I was looking through previous albums I had put together on a yearly basis and I loved all the details it allowed me to remember of that specific year and therefore I vowed to get caught up on my layouts and to keep an album for 2010 that would allow me to remember little details such as home improvements on my new house, the birth of my niece or nephew in the Fall, my niece Makiya’s 2nd Birthday in the Summer and so much more..scrapbooking is truly a gift to ourselves and our families and I’m so thankful for it! Which is also another reason I signed up for the uber talented Kelly Purkey’s online class entitled Beginnings..check it out here! I’m really excited for March to come so I can learn new techniques from this amazing designer!!

So thats my weekend in a nutshell..hope yours was great as well as warm and I will be back very soon with some Spring goodness!!

Happy Crafting everyone!!

So this post was supposed to go up a few days ago but unfortunately this past weekend got away from me way too quickly!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and a super sweet Valentine’s Day! I spent my day at home with family and chose this little cutie to be my Valentine this year..

On Friday I brought Red Velvet cupcakes to the office and had to laugh when 2 of my closest coworkers and I all wore red!! Had to get a photo of that..just because 😉

Aren’t these cupcakes delicious looking?? Trust me, they tasted amazing..thank goodness they were all eaten at work because I would have gained 10 lbs if they were laying around my house!!

This is also the last Valentine I made for no one in particular. I was inspired by the Making Memories “Love Struck” advertisement in the latest Creating Keepsakes magazine, have you seen it? I just loved the idea of hearts falling down a card to symbolize “I’m falling for you”..such a beautiful thing!!

Cardstock and patterned paper are from Papertrey Ink, glittered chipboard hearts and baking twine are Martha Stewart and the mini calendar is from Websters..SO cute!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!

Are you all ready for Valentine’s Day this Sunday?? I was busy in my studio last night making a few last minute goodies and I have to admit, I really love all the red and pink thats in my house right now..it just makes me ridiculously happy! I have quite a few projects to show you this week but for today its another card made with Impress images..

Both the lamp and the sentiment can be found online at Impress, while the cardstock and patterned paper are both from PTI…don’t you just love their new Valentine’s Day paper pad? Its gorgeous!

And then, because I can’t seem to get enough of the Martha Stewart glittered chipboard hearts, I added a couple to the lower half of the card…they just remind me of a sugared candy..and really, isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is all about?? 😉
So what are your plans for Valentine’s Day? Tomorrow night I will be baking Red Velvet cupcakes to bring to my office on Friday .. (this will be my first attempt at these kind of cupcakes, so keep your fingers crossed for me!!) Then this weekend I will be going to the movies with my mom to watch “Valentine’s Day” , have you seen the previews for this? It looks so good and I cannot believe how much star power they have!!
But I should get back to work here..so have an amazing day and I will be back tomorrow!!

I turned 26 today… its definitely not a life altering age by any standards yet it is still a really big Birthday for me. This is the first Birthday since I was 16 that I will be celebrating as a single woman and it symbolizes to me a fresh start… a new beginning of sorts. It was overwhelming how much love I received from family and friends today and it warms my heart to know just how loved I truly am:)

Tonight, I will be celebrating quietly with my family over a favorite homemade dinner and mom’s Black Forest cake and then tomorrow my best friend is throwing a party in my honor and I couldn’t be happier!

This is a fresh start for me and I feel that in my 26th year, the possibilities are endless!!

When I saw this set from Stampin Up, I knew I would soon be calling it mine! I loved all 3 of the images it came with..one for Fall, one for Christmas and then of course this whimsically sweet one that is just perfect for Valentines Day…

I will be sending this sweet card off to a very good friend of mine in Victoria, BC..and I hope that I haven’t missed the deadline for its safe and prompt arrival before next weekend!!
I used PTI’s Pure Poppy for my base as well as some vintage sheet music I bought off of Etsy..I scored a lot of paper for very little..you just have to be patient 😉 I then stamped my image onto Vintage Cream cardstock with Pure Poppy Ink and added a couple of Martha Stewart glittered chipboard hearts to boot!!

A very simple and sweet card today that just melts my cozy little heart:)
