There is snow on the ground here and I officially am home for the weekend! I have a warm blankie and a wintery movie calling my name tonight and the furnace is running..welcome to winter in October! I’ve decided I’m taking this wintery weather with stride and I plan on creating a stack of Christmas cards this weekend, one of which includes this cozy little one made from Papertrey Ink..

Heather Nichols came up with this design last winter and I fell in love with it and knew I wanted to make one of my own this year! Its super easy to make and has a warm country Christmas feel that I absolutely love lately!

I made the card base out of Kraft and cut a strip of Ripe Avocado to adhere to the front. Then using PTI’s Snowfall and Snowfall Additions, I stamped the flurry of snowflakes on both the avocado and kraft sides of the card. The sentiment comes from the additions set and I also used the snowflake punch to create a cute little embellishment for the front.

I love these sets from PTI and I have so many new ideas for their use in my ’09 Holiday cards! I can’t wait to get started!! Have a great night everyone:)

It’s official..its winter out there!! After scraping my windshield and wearing my winter jacket and gloves, I came to the realization that it is going to be another long and cold winter here in Canada (surprise, surprise!). Its -10 right now (14 F) and although it will warm up a little next week, something tells me we’re in for the real cold weather sooner than we’d thought! I’m trying not to complain as I love October-December but last night when I saw snow falling.. it felt too soon!!

But as it is Thanksgiving this weekend for us Canadians, we’re looking at a long weekend ahead of us and I have tons of Christmas crafting on my mind:)I plan on curling up with a blanket and watching a wintery movie tonight and then bringing out the Christmas tunes tomorrow and getting at ‘er! I’ll be back later today with a card..so check back soon!!

Have I mentioned how much I love Fall? It is (in my opinion) the most amazing season of the year, so beautiful and fresh.. I love the crispness in the air and the changing colors of the leaves and it makes me so thankful that I live in such a beautiful country that allows us to celebrate each season and all its beauty!

The farmers market on my way to work started displaying pumpkins about 3 weeks ago and every year when I first see them I get so giddy its almost ridiculous! I get excited to display my pumpkins on the front porch along with this little beauty of a wreath I made 2 years ago..
And something that I really am thankful for tonight? The homemade buns that are slowly coming out of the oven here in the Petrick house.. the smell wafting through here is enough to make anyone fall to their knees!
So in the spirit of the season and feeling thankful for so many things, I decided to bring out my new Making Memories “Autumn Splendor” papers to create a beautiful card for someone special (sorry its not the best picture..I ran out of daylight!!)
I combined the MM pp with their matching accessory leaves and PTI’s Fall Elegance Stamp set for the pumpkins and sentiment. The pumpkin trio was super easy to create, just need to mask a little around the edges for each stamp and voila! A little pumpkin patch of your very own!
Alright, I’d love to stay and “chat” but there are some warm, fresh buns calling my name! Have a great night everyone and stay warm!

Happy Monday!

Today was a rough first day back at the office! We are moving next Friday and with me being gone for 2 weeks..I felt like I was hitting a brick wall of papers and got absolutely nothing accomplished today. But it will get easier as I get back into my routine and thankfully I have a bit more time on my hands in the evenings now that Bustin Loose is over. I just wanted to show you a card I had made specifically for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it was made out of Hannah Stamps..
I also used PTI’s Heart Prints stamp set and their Hibiscus and Sweet Blush CS..
To finish off the card I used Cotton Candy Stickles to give it a little “oomph”
Isn’t it great? My parent’s know a lot of breast cancer survivors now that dad has gone through chemo himself and I know that many of them would love to receive this in the mail!! And I think I’ll send them off this week just because 😉 Have a great night everyone!

Hey Everyone!

Back from our trip and just wrapped up the Bustin Loose Race to End Breast Cancer! The weather is chilly and rainy and dreary, but the race was a huge success with tons of people coming out despite the weather! I had a great time and met a lot of women, so all in all it was a great morning! Just wanted to share a few photos of the table with you..

I searched high and low for a black tablecloth and finally found it! But my favorite part? The little polka dot wrapped present..perfect to go with my polka dot theme of my business!

Here’s a close up of the polka dots:)

And just some of the many crazy ladies!

Now that this race is over, I’m going to cozy up and relax for the first night in a very long time! I was invited to another expo in November that I’m seriously considering..but that work can wait for another night!! I look forward to settling in to a routine again and prepping for Christmas, which I cannot believe is 3 months away! I’ll be back tomorrow with another card..take care and enjoy your Sunday evenings!
Happy Crafting!
